Our Team:

We are a team with over 50 years of combined property management experience. Our goal is to maximize the return on investment for owners while maintaining quality housing for tenants. We offer personalized and professional services to both owners and tenants by building strong relationships, utilizing the latest technology, implementing effective marketing strategies, following consistent systems, and having open lines of communication. We do more than just rent out properties; we manage them with the highest level of integrity as if they were our own.

We maintain membership in good standing with the National Association of Residential Property Managers, Better Business Bureau, National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, and the California Apartment Association.

Mark Katz

Mark, a licensed California Real Estate Broker, started CM Property Management because he saw the need for a property management company that focuses on the unique needs of each individual owner. His vision was to create a company that customizes a management strategy to maximize investment returns. Mark’s approach is having CM Property Management work for the owner, not the other way around. Part of the strategy is to manage properties in the manner that fosters long term tenants.

Mark is a graduate of Boston University’s School of Management. Prior to becoming a property manager, Mark had a successful business career working for large international trading and banking institutions in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. Mark also served for four years on the Stamford, Connecticut Board of Education.

Sam LaPlaca III

Sam has been a licensed Real Estate Professional for over 28 years. Sam started as a computer programmer for a large title company and quickly realized that Real Estate was much more personable and gratifying for him. After managing several of his own investment properties, he transitioned into the corporate world of property management and became the director of several large apartment communities and mobile home parks. Over the past 18 years, Sam has been the head of operations and development for several Bay Area portfolios of rental properties.

Throughout the course of his property management career, Sam has been directly involved in the management of thousands of rental units in various market conditions. He is currently involved in all areas of the day-to-day operations of CM Property Management’s rental portfolio. Sam firmly believes that with integrity, solid communication and a clear understanding of an owner’s goals the potential for the owner’s investment can exceed expectations.
